Saheli is from the Hindi word for ‘female friend’ and is a non profit organisation focusing on sustainable production that is defined with three pillars of sustainability: production that benefits the economic, social, and environmental sides of life. The Saheli Center is the commerce center of a small village in Rajastan, India. They provide a safe and educational environment providing the women to earn enough money to save, send their children to school, and become financially independent. Our Founder Isabella went and visited them and it took the ladies 1 month to make each trouser.
They work regardless of caste and religious boundary. With this humanitarian mindset, we hope to inspire brands and producers alike worldwide to reflect on their own manufacturing methods and recognise the need for change. Each trousers comes with a small leaflet about the charity and signed by who made it.
