At Maison Mitla we believe in producing less but better. That’s why we insist on our partner families receiving a living wage and that our production stays in harmony with nature as much as possible. Handmade techniques are by definition more respectful and less damaging than large scale industrial production. It also benefits not only the artisan herself but an entire community, such as the farmers who grow the pesticide free cotton or the families who grow all the plants used in our natural pigments. Beyond slow fashion, we want to give a face and a voice to all the talented women artisans we work with.
Please note that all our garments are entirely handmade and the textiles are handweaved using traditional techniques. No machine, except a classic sewing machine, is involved in the process. This is why some irregularities may sometimes be present such as tiny apparent threads or a slight difference in length & width. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information on any of our collections, we’ll be more than happy to help you choose you perfect piece.
Please note that many of our brands are from all over the world and are pre-order due to practicing slow fashion. The brand will note shipping and prep time.
